And to my surprise, life on the other side of the ocean wasn't so bad after all!
We built a very successful online lighting business—one of the first to bring European designer lighting the United States. It grew and we scaled. Even though we were stoked by the success, this e-commerce business left us exhausted and depleted of all our energy.

When my husband had the idea to move to another country and start life all over, my immediate answer was NO!
I have a very strong bond with my family, especially with my twin sister, and it took some serious convincing until I decided to take a leap of faith and follow my husband's dream (at first). 

One night, I was browsing online, looking for something else that we could do that would leave us more space to live life but to also generate a great deal of revenue. This random browsing session took me on to a sales page...real estate investing. Interesting, I thought. We didn't have anything to loose and so I signed up for my hubby and sent him away to learn (he's one of the people who can really immerse themselves into new topics and execute right away). He came back with a head full of ideas, and a business model. Next thing I know: we were researching properties and making our first (very scary) purchase on an investment deal!

My family

we discovered the potential of short term rental investing. I made my Realtor license, so that I could to sell our own Fix & Flip properties. After that, we started building a portfolio of short term rentals in the Metro Atlanta area, which made us about $1.5M in revenue so far. Our income form the e-commerce days had now been replaced (and then some).
With the money also came the freedom to travel, our favorite thing to do!
In the summer of 2020 we bought an RV and took our boys on a 6 week trip to finally discover the country we had been living in for so long. Since then you can find us exploring new places and cultures a couple times each year because we built a business that allows us this lifestyle.
